WA; Kalgoorlie hit by freak storm
PERTH, Jan 11 AAP - The Goldfields city Kalgoorlie-Boulder was cleaning up today after
it was hit by a wild storm that uprooted trees and tore down power lines last night.
Kalgoorlie State Emergency Services manager Mick Lorkin said 21 SES volunteers worked
for most of the night to secure roofs and mop up after the storm swept through at about
9pm.
"It was pretty fierce; a lot of rain and micro bursts of wind, lots of lightning and
some hail," Mr Lorkin said.
