Stones get tough on touts for first gig
The Rolling Stones are going to extraordinary lengths to ensure scalpers get no satisfactionwhen they open their Australian tour in Sydney tomorrow.
For fans lucky enough to get into the show at the intimate 2000-capacity Enmore Theatretomorrow night, it isn't just a matter of paying your money and getting the tickets inthe mail.
Audience members must front up to the ticket office in Sydney, or at the theatre, topersonally collect their ticket and a special wristband.
They are required to present photo ID, the credit card used at the time of purchase, and an acknowledgement letter sent out when the tickets were paid for.
At the ticket office today, the non-transferable paper wristbands were being fastenedto fans' wrists with a warning: don't take them off, not even to shower.
Organisers say it's a necessary measure to make sure the show is for the fans and todiscourage scalpers and touts.
